Residential movers · Apex, Cary, Holly Springs & Raleigh

Your family's move, handled end to end.

For households who would rather not lose three weekends to packing and a month to unpacking. I take on the whole transition: the home you're leaving, the move itself, and the home you're arriving at.

What a full transition includes

Everything between the last night in one home and the first night in the next.

Packing, by hand

Room by room, in the order you'll need things back. Fragile and treasured pieces are wrapped individually and labeled for where they're going.

The old home, handed over

Cleaning, painting and small repairs coordinated with vendors we trust, so the house is ready for its new owners or tenants without you chasing anyone.

A careful move

Floors, doorways and furniture protected before anything is lifted. Loaded, transported and delivered on the dates in your plan.

Unpacked and placed

Furniture where you want it, clothes in closets, books on shelves. You tell us once during the walkthrough; we set it up that way.

The first night, sorted

Beds made, kitchen working, bathrooms set up, children's rooms done first if you have little ones. You sleep at home, not in a box room.

Boxes gone

Every empty box, every sheet of paper and roll of tape leaves with us. Nothing is waiting for you to break down in the garage.

Plates wrapped in packing paper in a moving box labelled "Kitchen – everyday plates"

Wrapped, room by room

Labelled for where it lands.

A child's bedroom set up at dusk, the bed made with a blue quilt and a stuffed rabbit on the pillow

Children's rooms first

Set up before bedtime.

A walk-in closet fully unpacked, clothes hung by colour and sweaters folded on the shelves

Closets done

Clothes hung and folded away.

White-glove extras, by arrangement

For the things that need more than a moving box.

Some belongings need a specialist and some homes need more than a move. Tell me about them at the walkthrough and I'll arrange it as part of your plan.

Wine collections

Wine that needs to stay at a steady temperature travels with a specialist carrier, arranged and scheduled as part of your move.

Art, antiques and heirlooms

Pieces that can't be replaced are wrapped individually, with crating arranged where a piece needs it, and hung or placed where you want them in the new home.

Pianos and vehicles

A grand piano, a classic car or a whole garage of them. I arrange the specialist movers and schedule them into your plan.

Electronics and appliances

Electronics and appliances plugged in, connected and working, so the house runs on the first night.

Decluttering, after the move

Things that didn't find a place in the new home are sorted with you, then donated or taken away.

Anything else unusual

Junk removal, storage, or something we haven't listed. Ask at the walkthrough, and if it can be done properly, it goes into your plan.

An empty, freshly painted room with polished heart pine floors, ready for its next owners

Tailored, not tiered

Take the whole service, or just the parts you need.

The full transition is what Fort Fox is built for, but no two households need the same thing. Some families hand me the keys and come back to a finished home. Others want us to pack and move while they handle the rest.

Either way, the plan is written around your dates, your home and your family — and the quote comes after I've seen it, not before.

The Fort Fox Method

Four stages. One plan, start to finish.

I lead your move from the first conversation to the final walkthrough, and the crew and vendors I bring in carry out the plan we agreed. You will never be handed to a dispatcher, and nobody you haven't been told about will turn up at your door.

  1. Walkthrough

I come to your home and walk it with you, room by room. What matters most, what can't break, which rooms need to work on the first night, and the dates you can't move.

  2. Plan

You receive a written transition plan: what gets packed when, what the home you're leaving needs before handover, where everything lands in the new one — and your quote, in writing, before a single box is packed.

  3. Move

Packing, protection, loading and transport on the dates in your plan. Cleaners, painters and repairs at the old home are scheduled around you, not left for you to chase.

  4. Settle

Unpacked and placed the way we planned it. Beds made, kitchen working, boxes gone. I walk the new home with you before we leave, and anything open is written down and owned.
