In 2026 my family moved from San Diego to North Carolina. It should have been the start of something exciting. Instead, it was one of the most stressful weeks of our lives.
I'd booked our move over the phone. I never saw a face. Our belongings arrived late, some didn't arrive at all, and on the day a crew I had never met stood at my door and demanded thousands of dollars more before they would finish the job.
I've spent more than fifteen years in operations and logistics, and my background is in process improvement. Standing there, I knew this wasn't how a move has to go. Moving is a logistics problem — a hard one — and it can be planned, staffed and run properly.
So I started Fort Fox. Not another truck-and-a-crew company, but a transition partner: someone who walks your home with you, plans every step in writing, gets the house you're leaving ready for whoever comes next, and sets up the one you're moving into so it already feels like home.
We're new, and I'd rather say so than borrow anyone else's reviews. What I can promise is that I'll be the person you meet, the person who writes your plan, and the person you call.
